Allhallowtide at the Chapel of the Cross

Allhallowtide is a period of three days in which our loved ones who have died and now rest in the nearer presence of Jesus Christ are remembered. We will observe Allhallowtide at the Chapel of the Cross with the following services.

A Service for All Hallows’ Eve

Join us in the churchyard at 5p on Thursday, October 31st, as we observe All Hallows’ Eve (from which the name Halloween is derived). This is a neat service from the Book of Occasional Services. It is short, so come join us for the service and then go trick or treating.

All Saints’ Day

Join us in the Memorial Garden at 5p on Friday, November 1, as we observe the Feast of All Saints’ with a holy eucharist and the reading of the necrology (a list of those who have died this past year). This will be the first eucharist celebrated in the Memorial Garden so bring a chair with you and come give thanks for the saints in your life who from their labors rest.

Day of the Dead

Join us on Saturday, November 2nd, at 5p in the churchyard by the Chapel of the Cross. If you would like to remember the life of a loved one, please bring a picture of the person, an item that represents something the person liked to do, a beverage he or she liked to drink and some finger food that the person enjoyed that can be shared. Tables will be provided. You may also want to tell a short story about the person during the service. More information about Day of the Dead can be found HERE.

All Saints’ Sunday

Join us for Holy Eucharist at 8a, 10:30a, and 5p with the reading of the necrology at all services.
